Good news regarding the courts at Memorial Park! The courts are in the final stages of color and lines. The township has a new target availability date of Monday May 16th but it may be sooner if there are no abnormal weather issues.
Based on this we are planning to begin our Tuesday (May 17th) and Thursday lessons (May 19th) at Memorial Park and continue the season from there.
However, the first Saturday class is scheduled for May 14th which is just prior to the courts becoming available. Therefore we are planning to have the first Saturday class (May 14th) across the street at Walter Park tennis courts. If the courts are completed before the 14th, we will have the classes at Memorial Park.
If there are any delays, or if we are able to start the Saturday classes at Memorial Park, we will send another email and post information on our website (www.maplewoodtennis.com) and our tennis lesson status phone number 973-843-1116.
If you have any questions or need additional information about the completion of the Memorial Park tennis courts please feel free to contact the Recreation Department : 973-763-4202.

Hello and welcome to the Maplewood Tennis Program
Director of Tennis, John Trinity began teaching tennis in Maplewood in 1983. John is a NJ State certified health and physical education teacher, has a Master's Degree in Teaching, a Doctorate in Education and is a USPTA Master Professional. In 1991 he added a tennis camp for children and started our now famous Pee Wee tennis program. The first ever Pee Wee Carnival in the spring of 1991 put Maplewood's program on the map and the pee wee program which begins at age 3 has flourished ever since. Other clubs across the country have modeled their Carnivals after ours. We are located inside the Civic House adjacent to the tennis courts in Memorial Park. We are sponsored by the Maplewood Department of Recreation and Cultural Affairs and can be reached at their office by calling 973-763-4202.
